Every two years numerous exhibitors from the fields of manufacturing technology, machine tools, computer technology and CAD/CAM software meet and present their products to an international audience. Of course we won't miss the opportunity to present our software vectorcam at the Deutsche Messe in Hannover. In a few days - to be exact from 16.9. - 21.9.2019 - you can convince yourself of our numerous modules, which drastically reduce the time required to manufacture your workpieces.

Innovative, easy to learn and precise - our CAM program vectorcam is an indispensable tool for NC programming: milling, drilling, turning/turning, cutting, eroding, laser cutting and much more - the CAD/CAM software supports all common machining processes. Flexible and effective machining strategies lead to very short machining times and guarantee high-quality workpieces.

"We attach great importance to user-friendliness and fast and efficient production - from design to production. This is why we invest a lot of time in the further and new development of our modules," explains Managing Director Günter Böhning. That's why we have prepared numerous innovations to present at the EMO 2019.

Software innovations

NC milling incl. features

The 2D / 2.5D milling module with NC features offers a wide range of functions and impresses with extremely simple handling, optimum ease of operation and a high level of programming security. Thanks to the CAM system, the creation of simple workpieces on the one hand and complex components on the other is much faster.

For example, in the revised "Drill Milling" function, additional parameters have been introduced that allow the complete definition of values for machining a part in a single job.

Also, our completely new feature "Pocket Circle" saves you valuable time in the processing of the workpieces: After immersion, the lateral infeed takes place in a spiral. Just as in adaptive milling, this results in spiral tool paths. This function can therefore also be used as an HSC strategy with large plunging depth and small lateral plunging. The advantage of this function is that only one wall surface has to be selected for machining and the pre-drilled diameters are taken into account.

The "Deburring" feature is a new function for breaking sharp component edges. A collision check that has been developed for this feature automatically takes all model surfaces into account. In the event of a collision, the tool path is automatically shortened to such an extent that collision-free starting and stopping can occur. A change of the existing model is not necessary in this feature.

vectorcam fixtures in 3D milling module

In the current version the user has the possibility to group fixtures into objects. These objects can be shown and hidden as usual and can be easily transferred to the simulation. The fixtures can be used as collision objects in almost all functions of the 3D milling module.

The Stock-Manager

Our stock manager works according to the same principle. Any 3D models (STL or surface models) are grouped into objects and the user has the possibility to use these objects to calculate the tool paths. By a targeted transfer to the simulation, the simulation can be started at any point without recalculating previous work steps.

vectorcam job report

In manufacturing, it is important that the programmed machining is executed correctly by the CNC machine. Especially when several employees are machining the same parts, errors can occur. In order to avoid these disruptive factors, the latest vectorcam version now includes job reports that informs the user of how the blank part is to be machined. Once the job report has been created, vectorcam outputs a PDF file which contains or summarizes all important information about the programmed part.

In the newest vectorcam version the newest Module Works version 08/2019 has been implemented.
